As seen, the picture of the deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, standing by the signpost of a road named after him in Borno State, has emerged.
According to report got, it was said that the road was named after Kyari by Banagana Zulum, the current state governor, to honour the police detective, who hails from the state.
Deputy commissioner of police is seen as one of the best detectives in the country.
However, a court in the United States issued a warrant to arrest him, over his reflection in the case concerning serial fraudster, Ramon Olurunwa Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
According to document detailed presented in the court, it showed how Hushpuppi paid Kyari to arrest and detain Chibuzo Vincent, a colleague of his, with whom he had a dispute following a fraudulent business deal with a Qatari businessman.
Following the court document reviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kyari did imprison Vincent and promised Hushpuppi that he would not be bailed.
“After Kyari arrested Chibuzo, he sent photographs of Chibuzo in custody and later told Abbas that he would not allow Chibuzo’s girlfriend to pay money to get Chibuzo out of the custody as he would have done for ‘normal arrest,’” the document said.
Following this, the police officer has since denied the allegations which the Nigeria Police Force said are being reviewed.
