As gathere by INFOXCLUSIVE, Jonathan Vatsa, the chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has suggested that IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho will have their sins forgiven if they join the party.
Recently, many politicians have decamped to the APC from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the latest being former aviation minister Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Most of these new members have pending cases with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), so regard joining the ruling party as the way out of their troubles, as reported.
According to the Chieftain, Mazi Kanu and Igboho, who have been declared as the governments biggest two enemies, should consider joining the APC to end their problem.
Recalling, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu was abducted by Nigerian security forces in Kenya and bundled to Nigeria to face treason charges, while Sunday Igboho is currently in detention in the Republic of Benin fighting deportation to Nigeria.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho are both fighting for separatist causes. Reacting to the defection of Chief Fani-Kayode, Vatsa said that Mazi Kanu and Sunday Igboho would both have their sins forgiven if they joined the APC given the desperation with which those once tagged thieves are being wooed and coerced into the ruling party.
Vatsa said, “I will not be surprised if Kanu and Igboho join the APC and are released from detention with the best of the reception accorded them. That is the level of desperation that APC found itself in, no matter the level of your corruption, when you join APC you become a saint, which is sad and very unfortunate.
“Treasury looters are now heroes in APC. Everything is finished and the party has lost direction.
“I am dumbfounded and shocked not because Femi Fani Kayode defected to the party but the kind of red carpet reception accorded him and in Aso Rock before the chief anti-corruption crusader himself. All Nigerians, including Mr President, know the controversy surrounding the N2bn Port Harcourt Airport runway contract under Femi Fani Kayode as minister of aviation and his involvement in Dasukigate.”
