After Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the PDP deleted a message he put on his Facebook and Twitter accounts condemning the burning of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State, on Thursday, reports has it that he has sacked his media aide.
Atiku wrote on Twitter to condemn the mob activity, saying, “There cannot be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends.”

On Facebook, the former Vice President in a message on his verified Hausa page said he didn’t post the message on social media. He likewise expressed that any message on social media that didn’t accompany the initials “A. A.” were not his.
“This evening I received information that a post was made that doesn’t agree with my orders. I use this to announce that any post without A. A. is not from me. May God protect us,” he wrote in Hausa language.
