The Atiku Support Organization, ASO, has responded to the implied crisis in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Recall that the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom had in a interview, blamed Atiku for conflicting with the recommendation of the party on the decision of Atiku’s running mate.

As per Ortom, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who came next in the party’s primary election, was suggested as Atiku’s running mate for the 2023 presidential race.

Party members, who are supporters of Wike, had additionally required the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu over the result of the party’s primary and the decision of running mate.

Yet, responding, the Deputy National Director, Print Media of the Atiku Support Organization, Eric Ekwere, who spoke exclusively with DAILY POST, announced that there is no crisis in the party.

As per him, the crisis just exists on social media, exposing the purported factions in the main opposition party.

He said, “Our party is not in crisis. Wike contested an election, and he lost the primary. And it’s natural that once you lose such an election, you will feel somehow. You will naturally not be happy. It doesn’t mean that the party is in crisis.

“It’s just a little disagreement, and then what we are hearing is just a social media blast. We all know how social media works. You are not there.

“Everybody is working on hearsay. So what we are seeing is social media rumour, nothing more. We are hearing that Wike has a faction different from Atiku’s faction. Who told them that?

“Osun State outing alone is enough to tell Nigerians that PDP is together, and we are confident of winning the 2023 election. This is why I totally disagree with the Obedient team. It’s likely to end like the EndSARS campaign”.
