The Nigeria Police Force have dismissed an officer, PC Liyomo Okoi, with the power No. 524503 over a gross misconduct caught in a viral video
INFOXCLUSIVE reports that the video, which trended on social media platforms as of late, caught the dismissed officer beating a man with a machete.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the dismissal takes effect from today the 8th of August, 2022.
According to the statement, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkaki Baba likewise expressed dissatisfaction at the reports of brutality and extortion evened out against some police officers by means of different complaint channels available to the public, especially on social media platforms.
He said the IGP has directed all supervising Commissioners of Police and Tactical/Strategic Commanders to ensure severe supervision of their personnel as further occurrences of this nature would be seen strictly.
