Factional Secretary-General of the apex Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro has couldn’t help contradicting the spokesman of the Igbo body, Chief Alex Ogbonna working on it including Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice.

Ogbonna had asked the Federal Government to mediate for Ekweremadu’s situation.

The Ekweremadus are facing trial in the United Kingdom, UK, for supposedly bringing in a Nigerian for organ harvesting.

To this end, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had said the Federal Government wouldn’t meddle in his trial.

Malami had said it’s not in the tradition of the Nigerian Government to meddle in such trials, a comment faulted by the Ohanaeze spokesman.

In a counter statement on Wednesday, Isiguzoro urged the Federal Government not to meddle.

Isiguzoro said individuals ought to quit making such a demand without the knowledge on the Igbo General Assembly, Imeobi Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

An statement by Isiguzoro said: “the position of Ohanaeze is on the same page with the Attorney General’s Office and Minister of Justice, which is to remain neutral and not to interfere but only pray for Senator representing the Enugu West to get a fair judgment in the ongoing investigation and trial in the UK”.

“These clarifications became imminent based on the fact that fifth columnists and impostors who are personal aides and Associates of Senator Ekweremadu have been drafted to use the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo fraudulently to cajole the Federal Government into a shady expedition filled with trickery.”
