Nigeria has been drawn bye in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

The draw function for the qualifiers occurred at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.

The U-23 Eagles will confront the winner among Tanzania and South Sudan in the second round.

Assuming they progress, the U-23 Eagles will confront Guinea or Uganda in the last round of the qualifiers.

The second-round games will come up between October 21-30, 2022.

The last round of the qualifiers is scheduled for between March 20-28, 2023.

The competition will act as the qualifiers for the football occasion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
