The Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani, on Sunday, said the state House of Assembly doesn’t have any plan to impeach Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Late night on Saturday, reports had emerged on social media that the state House of Assembly had started the impeachment move against Governor El-Rufai over alleged corruption.
However, Hon. Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, SA Media and Publicity to the Honorable Speaker, in a statement on Sunday, noted that the reports is the handicraft of opposition and enemies of progress of the relationship between the legislative arm of government and the executive under the capable administration of Malam Nasir el-Rufai.
He said the false report was broadcasted evidently to create crises between the legislative and the executive and to deny the great people of Kaduna State the dividends of democracy they are benefitting.
“The report which also said the relationship between the governor and the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani, has been frosty for quite some time now is also nothing but the figment of imagination of the writer and perhaps their sponsors,” it said.
The statement portrayed as false the claim that the state legislators are right now investigating the expenditures of all the Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals of the state government.
The statement further added that the whole report is maliciously devised to deceive the general public and ought to be ignored completely.
As indicated by the statement, the beginning of the implied report will be thoroughly investigated with the view to bringing the culprits and their sponsors to book to act as deterrent to other people.
It further avowed that the relationship between the legislature and executive is friendly and it is normal not exclusively to remain so however be improved upon.
