According to the Coalition of Northern Groups in Anambra State, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s official possibility for the 2023 election, didn’t demolish mosques during his tenure as governor of Anambra State.

According to INFOXCLUSIVE, a Twitter user, Qudus Akanbi Eleyi (@Qdpaper2), claimed that Obi demolished a mosque in Anambra and pursued Hausa, Fulani, and different northerners out of the state while he was still governor. The claim with an accompanying pictures have gone viral.

Notwithstanding, according to a recent statement signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Isa Jalo, and the Women Coordinator, Hajiya Jamila Ibrahim, northerners have generally lived as one in Anambra.

“Without equivocation, we wish to state here that nothing can be more false and outright malicious than this allegation,” the statement reads in part.

“Our members lived in Anambra State before Peter Obi became governor, and they have remained in the state to this day, carrying on their legitimate businesses.”

“If we may inquire, who are the Muslims or Northerners who Peter Obi expelled during his tenure as governor?” Can the fabricated act’s sponsors point to them for Nigerians to see?”
