The Katsina State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) says 24 individuals lost their lives, while 245 others were seriously affected as flood and windstorm caused damages in the State.
Mr Umar Muhammad, its spokesman, made the divulgence while addressing newsmen in Katsina on Friday.
He explained that all the 34 local government areas were truly affected by the catastrophe.
As indicated by him, following the windstorm and flood, a few different people sustained different levels of wounds, adding that 16, 625 houses were damaged by the disaster.
He likewise explained that 1, 620 farmlands were additionally lowered in Kafur, Danja and Ingawa local government areas of the State.
The spokesman stated that properties worth millions of naira and farm produce were destroyed because of the flood.
As per him, “The agency had already assessed the affected houses and farmlands in order to assist the victims. The State government will soon start distribution of relief assistance to the flood victims.”
He assured that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), would before long disperse relief materials to the affected people to reduce the impact.
