With the 2023 general elections quick drawing nearer, former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has revealed the only party he belongs to.
Sanusi said the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu knows that he belongs to the party called Nigeria.
He uncovered this while taking note of that he’s not a member of any political party.
Sanusi talked while addressing Tinubu and different visitors in Kaduna during the seventh edition of KadInvest, a yearly occasion organised by the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency yesterday.
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, likewise bemoaned oil theft, Nigeria’s rising debt profile, unbalanced subsidy payment and soaring foreign exchange, among other financial and monetary difficulties confronting Nigeria right now.
He called for transparency and credibility in the management of the country’s resources and requested the unbundling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, saying the organization isn’t a gold mine however ought to be run as an independent enterprise with high-level accountability.
Sanusi further asked States to liberate themselves from exorbitant dependence on the Federal Government.
“I keep repeating, hope you remember that I lost my job at the Central Bank for this same problem.
“It is not about a particular party. I have no party. My party is Nigeria. This is the problem we had in 2014. Asiwaju (Tinubu) knows my party is Nigeria,” he said.
