The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Uche Nnaji, who ran for governor of Enugu State in the most recent election.
They disputed Peter Mbah’s (of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP) victory.
The APC and Nnaji’s legal team produced a weak brief of argument, the highest court’s five-member bench ruled in a Friday verdict. They were unable to persuade the judge to accept the appellants’ flawed brief by making a compelling argument.
The appellants’ inadequate brief had an impact on the entire appeal, Justice Tijani Abubakar noted in the main judgment. As a result, the appellants’ brief and appeal were rejected.
